Having bought four in the past year, I recently ordered an additional six devices to provide power to the multitude of usb gadgets I keep around the house. So far, all of them work flawlessly without any voltage fluctuations. Out of the 10, only one developed a high pitched sound due to a piezoelectric effect possibly from a ceramic capacitor inside (yes, I am an electrical engineer) but it works fine.
Rated at 5W output they may not be able to keep up with an ipad while turned on but can surely charge virtually any device that requires a recharge. And at a little over a buck each, I really can't complain...(By: C. Philippides "philico") (USA)
